MICHELIN Guide’s Point Of View

Remaining as hot and hip as ever, this is the kind of place you head to for rib-sticking pastas or a whole branzino fresh off the wood-burning grill. It all feels like a labor of love inside, thanks to the husband-and-wife team who make it their mission to bring delicious food to this neighborhood. The space itself is warehouse-sized, with a copper bar, booths that almost appear suspended and a red-domed oven firing in the corner. The lobster crostino is justifiably popular, but also sample casarecce al pomodoro-pasta made from semolina and tossed in tomato sugo and ricotta. Desserts are equally enticing: don't miss the humbly named "coffee and donuts," served as spiced chestnut zeppole alongside excellent coffee gelato and a dollop of sweet whipped cream.
