Poised on the brink of a rocky seaside bluff in Big Sur, the vantage here gives unbeatable sweeping views of the Pacific coast, thanks to a panoply of floor-to-ceiling windows. Housed inside the Post Ranch Inn, the breathtaking location calls out for romantic celebrations like honeymoons or anniversaries, while the rustic modern décor and friendly service promote comfort and calm. Stunning vistas aside, an ingredient-driven tasting menu offers a bounty of California seasonality, from Monterey abalone congee to guinea hen with honeypatch squash, vadouvan curry and pickled sultanas. Lunch presents a simpler, breezier prix fixe menu (though no less assiduously farm-to-table) with a choice of mains. Fittingly, cocktails make use of herbs and citrus from on-site gardens.
"Our chef’s garden on property is where we grow produce and botanicals; and chickens for their fertilizer and eggs. We have a 12-acre organic and regenerative farm in partnership with Regenerative California, located in Salinas, where we are also growing produce for our restaurant and other local restaurants. We compost on property and all water used at Post Ranch Inn is sourced and treated via the seven wells located on property."
