Nolinski Venezia - Evok Collection

The Evok Collection is best known for its Parisian line of luxury boutique hotels, which include such gems as Brach, Sinner, and Cour des Vosges — as well as the original Nolinski. But the Evok approach is equally well suited to Venice, a city that’s just as heavily traveled, and which features its fair share of extravagant hotels. Nolinski Venezia, we’re happy to report, is further proof that there’s no necessary tradeoff between high luxury and high fashion — in the right hands, a hotel is perfectly capable of delivering both.

Nor does it shy away from the action. Nolinski Venezia is set on the Calle Larga XXII Marzo, in a stately building that once housed the city’s Chamber of Commerce, with high-end retailers like Ferragamo and Armani for neighbors. Its interiors are a contemporary update of the classic local style, with more than a hint of a Parisian accent — rich textures, saturated colors, Art Deco lines and plenty of Venetian glass.

The public spaces, at this early date, are a work in progress; if the Nolinski name means anything, though, it’ll mean an opulent spa and at least one restaurant whose environment is as exquisite as its cuisine.
