Once upon a time Ibiza was an undiscovered paradise. Later it became synonymous with a hedonistic dance-party lifestyle. And now, in what you might call its mature phase, it’s home to hotels that deal in a sort of hedonism that’s a little more grown-up. Bless Hotel Ibiza, like its sister in Madrid, is elegant, refined, and more than a little bit luxurious. But in no way is it old-fashioned. It’s inspired in large part by Coco Chanel, but don’t go expecting a totally faithful recreation of mid-century Paris; though in part retro-inspired, Bless’s interiors combine Chanel’s influence with a 21st-century design sensibility.

The majority of the rooms and suites have sea views from their bedrooms or balconies/terraces, and they’re equipped with up-to-date technology and plush low-tech comforts. Some have jacuzzis on their terraces or in their bathrooms, and the Plenitude suite has panoramic penthouse views.

If you’re of a culinary bent, however, you might find Bless’s restaurants to be the most impressive part of the package. Chef Martín Berasategui has amassed no fewer than 12 Michelin stars; his Etxeko Ibiza accounts for one of them, and is understandably the main event here. There’s also Volveo, and a handful of bars — one on the rooftop, one by the pool, and one, the Vermouth Bar, just off the lobby.
