Though it’s set where the lake meets the heart of the Como city center, the Vista Palazzo is scarcely less idyllic than its farther-flung neigbors up the lake shore. The building is a stately 19th-century affair, but as handsome as it is — and as stylish as its modern-luxe interiors may be — everything inside is designed to draw the eye out, to the spectacular views of the lake. Rooms and suites mix throwback glamour with contemporary Italian design classics; the restaurant and bar benefit from their elevated position and offer yet more extraordinary views out over the lake.
