About the Chef:
Young and talented Chef Dirk Hoberg learnt his skills in prestigious 2 and 3 Michelin star establishments in Germany before taking the gastronomic direction in 2009 of boutique Hotel Riva, located on the scenic lake Constance. He achieved there what only very few chefs have accomplished: in 2010 he opened “Ophelia”, an intimate 24 seater restaurant in a luxurious setting, in 2011 the restaurant was receiving its first star, followed immediately by its second Michelin star in 2012, making Ophelia a must-go destination staging Chef Dirk Hoberg as a rising star of the culinary scene of southern Germany.
Chef Hoberg likes to “keep things simple” so as to capture the essence of top quality produce, staying away from heavy sauces, as evidenced by his slender figure! Every week he changes one of the 16 dishes on his menu, challenging himself and his team to conjur-up new creations.
The International Michelin Chef Showcase is a biennial event that brings top chefs to local restaurants so diners here get to experience some of the world’s best cuisines without having to travel. It is organised as part of the partnership between Robert Parker Wine Advocate and Michelin, and marries the most coveted wines with sumptuous food.
