The name, O Filho da Mãe (“The Mother’s Son”), is a tribute to the owner’s mother — as one might guess! This tiny, cosy spot was meticulously designed by the owner himself after leaving the fields of art and architecture to pursue his new passion: gastronomy. Set on a picturesque street in Braga, near the city’s historic quarter, the restaurant provides an innovative menu inspired by South America, truly paying homage to tropical flavours. Dishes featuring wild tiger prawns served with coconut, saffron, and ginger fried rice, and fresh handmade pastas such as capelletti stuffed with blue cheese and sundried tomatoes with cashew nuts and fried sage are some stars of the menu, as well as tempting desserts, such as the unmissable brownie with salted caramel and pecan nuts!
