Broadway’s 1903-vintage Johnston Building was, in an earlier incarnation as the NoMad Hotel, instrumental in putting this neighbourhood on the map for present-day New Yorkers. The upscale neighbourhood of Roma is home to more than a few century-old mansions, but this one is unique – built from bricks shipped over from England, it was the custom-built residence for the head of the Bank of London & Mexico. Today, after a renovation, it’s one of Mexico City’s finest small luxury hotels.
