The guide has come a long way since it was first published in France in 1900, but its formula for success has remained largely unchanged: a strict and anonymous inspection process, guided by five objective criteria. It continues on its mission to reflect today’s trends while highlighting tomorrow’s talents, always in search of good food.
Today, there are 29 MICHELIN guides in 29 countries covering 45,000 hotels and restaurants with more than 2,800 stars in total. Expanding beyond physical pages, the guide has also established a strong digital presence with websites covering all its territories, and an extensive social media reach on platforms like Instagram and Facebook.
