This U-shaped property is set in a quiet and secluded location in the Königsdorf mountains, surrounded by meadows, forests and greenery – a setting that provides the perfect backdrop for Cathrin Maric and Philipp Kroboth to live out their concept of sustainability and self-sufficiency. On their organic farm, they grow vegetables, fruit and herbs, keep goats and chickens, and source honey from their own bees. Remaining ingredients are sourced from like-minded producers in the immediate vicinity. The seasonal set menu features punchy dishes that showcase the ingredients, with beautifully paired wines available on request. When he can, the owner is glad to explain his organic philosophy to guests in person. Housed in the former stables of the farm, the space is attractive: modern design, wood and stone, a visible kitchen, and floor-to-ceiling windows with an unobstructed view of the outside. The owner also runs her veterinary practice next to the restaurant.
