Michelin is delighted to announce that the first MICHELIN Guide Buenos Aires and Mendoza will be unveiled on November 24th 2023. Argentina is the first Hispanic Latin American country to be covered by the Guide – a true recognition of its rich food culture, as well as an international celebration of its dynamic culinary scene.
The capital, Buenos Aires, is a dazzling metropolis – one of the largest in South America – and boasts wide-ranging influences when it comes to its architecture, culture and cuisine, which is testimony to its rich history. From casual bistros to luxurious palatial restaurants, Buenos Aires is a world-class destination supported by both local and international foodies who are keen to try new concepts and go out for "tragos".
The City of Mendoza, meanwhile, sits on the edge of the Cordillera de los Andes and offers outstanding scenery and breathtaking views over its world-renowned vineyards. Wine culture has always been a defining feature of this region and has helped shape the local hospitality and art de vivre; as such, it's characterised by very friendly, welcoming restaurants.
As with all of the Guides in the MICHELIN collection, the selection for Argentina is compiled by the professional, independent MICHELIN Inspectors, who evaluate restaurants based on worldwide criteria in order to make the best recommendations for gastronomes across the globe.
The MICHELIN Guide Buenos Aires and Mendoza 2024 selection will be available from 24th November on The MICHELIN Guide website, as well as on the free iOS and Android apps.
Gwendal Poullennec, International Director of the MICHELIN Guides said:
