It’s a miracle that someone would take such great care for a hotel of just 47 rooms. Capella Hanoi was conceived by hospitality designer extraordinaire Bill Bensley as a tribute to the nearby opera house, whose stars used to frequent the lodging that formerly occupied this building. “Thorough” isn’t quite adequate to describe the scale of the renovation; what’s here now is a hotel that’s as individual as any boutique and as extravagant as any luxury hotel. Tributes to opera stars are everywhere, both in the rooms and in the Backstage restaurant and Diva’s Lounge bar.
