Set in a 19th-century apartment building in the Inner City on the Pest side of the Danube, Hotel Rum is a thoroughly contemporary boutique hotel, blending modern post-industrial design with an ornate antique atmosphere, all at a price point that ensures its audience is young enough to truly appreciate the combination.
The design comes courtesy of a team of local architects and designers, which lends it a pleasingly unique aspect. Hotel Rum is refreshingly willing to call its basic rooms small — they’re best thought of as singles, or very cozy doubles — and you’ll quickly work your way up to king beds, rain showers, and Nespresso machines.
On the rooftop, Solid serves breakfast, internationally inspired dishes, and an extensive selection of wine and spirits, all with an impressive view of the city center. Meanwhile, on the ground floor, Salt offers a fine dining experience focused on modern Hungarian cuisine.
