MICHELIN Guide’s Point Of View

As the restaurant’s name suggests, fish is the mainstay of the menu – the majority of it from Cornwall and Scotland – and the kitchen has the confidence to know that when it's this good, it needs little in the way of adornment. That’s not to say there isn’t a certain vibrancy to the cooking, and the satisfying dishes display plenty of colour, balance and poise.

The restaurant itself may be on the top floor of the South Place hotel but feels very much like a separate, stand-alone establishment with its own personality. The first thing you notice is the ornate mirrored ceiling and the brightness of the room. It also feels very intimate and comes with its own terrace where, on a warm evening, you’ll see the cocktails go flying out.
