MICHELIN Guide’s Point Of View

The restaurant is a stronghold for sake lovers – and the accompanying dishes are very interesting. The hassun is often an assortment of various dishes, but the ‘Okamoto way’ is to place shuko on lancqured wooden plates and serve one item at a time. A signature item is sardines ‘cooked’ for a long time in vinegar. To end comes a dish like chub mackerel bozushi wrapped in a turnip leaf, or rice noodles in chicken consommé. You can chat with the cheerful owner-chef.
