Oku Ibiza’s name and concept may be Japanese in origin, and its spaces may be soothingly Zen-like in their aesthetic, but don’t go expecting a monastery atmosphere — this is a luxury hotel, but a very hip one, and one that’s not afraid of a bit of nightlife or the occasional DJ set. The accommodations are unmistakably luxe, some featuring direct access to shared pools, others with rooftop terraces. There’s a lavish spa and fitness center, and the restaurants include an all-day Mediterranean option and a Japanese-Asian–South American hybrid by chef Mark Vaessen.
