Set within the Andine forest of the Parc Naturel Régional Normandie-Maine, in the Norman countryside, what Le Manoir du Lys, The Originals Relais (Relais du Silence) lacks in brevity it makes up for in contemporary elegance and rural charm. Behind the classic façade of this historic hunting lodge is a surprisingly modern hotel; even the lodge rooms, with their exposed timbers, are sleek and contemporary in aspect. The grounds are substantial, and the estate, still family-owned, includes a lovely outdoor swimming pool. Not to be missed is the Michelin-starred restaurant, presided over for two decades by chef Franck Quinton.
