Today’s Château Collias is less ancient than it sounds — its medieval core has been augmented by Renaissance expansions, an 18th-century façade, and a 19th-century renovation in an Italianate style. The estate’s expansive park offers plenty of opportunity for immersion in nature, whether by the poolside or contemplating a view of the UNESCO-listed Gorges du Gardon Natural Reserve. Farther afield, you’ll find sights like the Roman-era Pont du Gard, as well as the picturesque town of Uzès and the cities of Nimes and Avignon.
