MICHELIN Guide’s Point Of View

Frederikshøj is owned and run by chef Wassim Hallal, who celebrates ten years here in 2019. It is set in a delightful location away from the city centre, in the former staff lodge to the Royal Palace, and is smart, luxurious and contemporary, with edgy artwork, iPad menus and floor to ceiling windows affording views over the gardens and out to sea. Highly seasonal, original cooking is based on the classics but showcases modern techniques, offering dishes which are elaborate, creative and visually impressive. The wine list is a splendid tome - and service is professional and knowledgeable.
