The integration of a French company into a Mendoza winery such as Alta Vista is clearly evident in its working philosophy, in the development of the estate’s wines, as well as in the cuisine on offer at the estate’s Assemblage gastronomic restaurant, which is accessed by a beautiful olive tree-lined track. Guest are immediately treated as part of the family here, with introductions to the restaurant team and its two contrasting spaces – one dedicated to more creative dishes, the other (we are in Argentina, after all!) to the fire and parrilla grill used to cook delicious cuts of meat. The cuisine, defined as “from the Argentinian soil and French sky”, offers a choice of two surprise tasting menus that vary in terms of the number of courses on offer and the wine pairings that come with them. Dishes that are representative of the French influence here include the mouthwatering filet mignon and the scallops sourced from Patagonia.
