All the Key Hotels in Canada: The Full 2025 Selection

The MICHELIN Guide announces top honors for Canadian hotels in 2025.

After a global reveal on Oct. 8, 2025, that announced hundreds of new Keys around the world, the Inspectors' list of the very best hotels in Canada has been updated with brand new additions and upgrades.

This year, Canada adds five new One-Key hotels and retains its two fascinating Three-Key gems in natural settings on opposite sides of the country.

Like the MICHELIN Stars for restaurants, the MICHELIN Keys are our most outstanding hotels. Jump straight to the list or check out some of the highlights of the 2025 Canada Key hotels, below.

The Three-Key Club in Canada

Clayoquot Wilderness Lodge, the rare glamping hotel in the world with Three Keys.

Two hotels earned our top honor, Three MICHELIN Keys, for the second consecutive year in Canada: Fogo Island Inn and Clayoquot Wilderness Lodge. Both are remote, secluded, and ensconced in their country’s spectacular natural gifts. Off the northeast coast of Newfoundland, the small Fogo Island Inn tailors guest activities to the seven distinct seasons of its particular microclimate.

In British Columbia, on Vancouver Island, the canvas tents of Clayoquot Wilderness Lodge are a superlative take on glamping amidst the picture-perfect, UNESCO-designated Clayoquot Sound Biosphere Reserve.

The Many Key Hotels of Toronto, Montreal, and Quebec City

It’s something of a law of nature that every hotel brand worth its salt will eventually come to Toronto. Exceptional outposts from city newcomers like the Ace and 1 Hotel Toronto, as well as established players like the Four Seasons, all earned recognition on our list of Key hotels here.

An impressive number of Key hotels in other Canadian cities shine for their historic relevance. In Montreal, fully contemporary Key hotels like Le Mount Stephen and Hôtel Place d’Armes set up within gorgeous 19th-century facades. In Quebec City, you’ll find another impressive crop of historic buildings. Consider: the Auberge Saint-Antoine, a three centuries-old trio of sites with artifacts from the 1600s on display throughout its spaces.

Ski Hotels: Not Just for Skiing

Ski hotels earned Keys throughout the country — just search this page for Whistler, Mont Tremblant, and Lake Louise. But the moniker does these hotels a disservice. They’re not just for skiing. Look to lakeside retreats like Post Hotel & Spa, Nita Lake Lodge and Hotel Quintessence for ski hotels that thrive in summer.
