9 of the Most Spectacular Honeymoon Suites in the MICHELIN Guide, from Paris to the Serengeti

Our Inspectors find hotels for every budget—but you don’t open a list like this expecting a bargain. These are among the most interesting, appealing and, yes, expensive rooms in our selection.

In making the selections below, we kept the qualifications simple. The term honeymoon suite has no dictionary definition. Here, you’ll find romantic elements—special bathtubs, private pools, wood-burning stoves—sprinkled throughout. But in the end, these are simply among the most impressive suites in the MICHELIN selection, those with a lot of pizzazz and once-in-a-lifetime appeal, in hotels that span floating palaces to architectural desert masterpieces.

Perfect for a honeymoon? Absolutely. Perfect for marveling at their sheer splendor and individuality? Without question.

Shambhu Prakash Suite: Taj Lake Palace

Udaipur, India

This former royal palace, located in the middle of Udaipur’s Lake Pichola, is today among the most head-turning hotels in the world—the hotel itself seems to float above the water. The Shambhu Prakash Suite has its own appeal, a one-bedroom in an aristocratic British style that overlooks the water and comes with a hot tub, private dining area, and 24-hour butler service.

The appeal speaks largely for itself. Here’s a seaside view along the Amalfi Coast, from the highest floor of the hotel. Besides that, you’ll have plenty of space to unwind: bedroom, living room, and bathroom complete with a very large, dare we say two-person, tub.
