MICHELIN Guide’s Point Of View
If dining at Manresa is like a weeklong stay at a luxury resort, this New Orleans-inspired little sib from Chef/owner David Kinch is more like a weekend of partying in the Big Easy. With its zinc bar, pressed ceilings, and open kitchen stacked with bottles of Crystal hot sauce, it might just fool you into thinking you’re in Louisiana—right down to the zydeco and jazz playing on the stereo. Reservations aren't accepted, so locals (some with kids in tow) line up early to get a taste of spicy, Andouille-flecked gumbo z'herbes, golden-brown hushpuppies, oyster po'boys, and other Cajun and Creole classics. For the finale, a luscious butterscotch pot de crème may sound less traditional, but rest assured that it tastes like heaven.
