MICHELIN Guide’s Point Of View

Talk about an entrance: a futuristic hallway spills you into this plush “house” whose vast dining room is lined with modern artwork, a marble bar and lounge. In fact, it feels like a deluxe addition to Lakeview, and is the perfect place to enjoy a meal after one of the many events at Lincoln Hall, conveniently located next door. Chef Debbie Gold helms the contemporary American menu, and diners should start with her "bread service," which might reveal soft rye, pillowy rolls and delicately sweet oat-porridge bread. Other winners include the "breakfast" ramen studded with lamb bacon, shiitakes and sea beans. A pork pastrami melt is piled to proper Chicago heights, then topped with Gruyère, "secret sauce," as well as Brussels sprouts- and cabbage-kraut.
