You could drive down the street a dozen times and still overlook this intimate little nook that hides in plain sight. Little Havana is certainly an unexpected place to find one of the city’s hottest Thai kitchens, but if the long waits are any indication, Chef/owner Veenuthri Trisransri knows what he’s doing. On a menu that mixes typical standbys with Northern specialties, start with the excellent grilled beef salad or crispy duck salad. Sinus-clearing heat builds in a fiery larb muang aggressively seasoned with cumin, chilies and star anise; while khao soi is a bowl of comforting yellow curry.
Tables, plates and even the place itself is small, so order ambitiously and be prepared for a kitchen that sends out dishes faster than you can finish them.
