Lombok and the nearby Gili Islands are full of luxury resorts. On the big island, many of the best ones, including Seven Secrets by Hanging Gardens, are located on the idyllic northwest coastline. This resort stands proudly on a crescent-shaped white-sand beach, lined with coconut palms and facing a dazzling expanse of clear turquoise water. Compared to the competition, Seven Secrets is on the smaller side, with just 24 suites — more than enough room for everyone, in other words, on the pale wood deck facing a long infinity pool, just steps from the sand.
Suites fall into three categories, depending on the view: garden, ocean, or mountains. They’re all spacious and modern, with parquet floors and metallic accents; designed for indoor-outdoor living, suites have floor-to-ceiling glass doors that open onto large private thatched-roof terraces with Jacuzzis, open-air showers, and plush daybeds. Ground-level oceanview suites open directly onto the pool deck, with rows of cheerful white umbrellas framed by water and the sky. Highlights include a swim-up pool bar, two fine dining venues, and a state-of-the-art spa and fitness center that stays open late.
