Design hotels are no longer a capital-city phenomenon; Laurichhof is set in the riverside town of Pirna, between the baroque bustle of Dresden on one side and the woodsy sandstone majesty of the Sächsische Schweiz national park on the other. Inside, its 27 suites go all in on vivid colors and graphic impact, and there isn’t a minimalist one among them, even the monochrome Whiteout: think oversize prints, whimsical light fixtures, and left-field themes, no two alike. At the same time, they haven’t forgotten their design fundamentals — they also overlook a contemplative courtyard for balance. Just look outside for all the earth tones you’ll ever need.
