Tucked away amid forested hills at the end of a quiet country road, Souki Lodges & Spa feels a bit like a private discovery. In fact, despite its middle-of-nowhere location outside the village of Cabrières, about an hour from Montpellier, it’s one of the most exclusive and sought-after places to stay in the region. The boutique hotel is the passion project of a pair of locally based designers who imagined a sleek, eco-friendly getaway built right into the landscape at the foot of the Pic de Vissou. The result was a pair of ultra-modern lodges, both built of organic French wood and elevated on stilts, creating the illusion that they’re suspended over the lush hillside.

One is called the Lodge in the Trees, and the other the Lodge in the Clouds, and while the ambience varies slightly, they’re similar in style. Both have more outdoor than indoor space, including a large private terrace with a Jacuzzi and an open-air kitchen. Inside, the blonde wood-lined interiors showcase contemporary art and design, with spacious, light-drenched living rooms, bathrooms with Japanese fixtures, rainfall showers, and free-standing tubs. Each of the two lodges has access to a natural infinity pool and a wooden sun deck overlooking the surrounding hills. Breakfast baskets stocked with freshly baked pastries and local delicacies are delivered to the lodges each morning, and dinner can be arranged in collaboration with the lodges’ hosts.

Don't despair! This hotel only has 2 rooms and occasionally imposes 2-night restrictions. As a result, you may encounter no availability from time to time. When in doubt, please contact our Travel Specialists at cs@tablethotels.com
