Under Canvas Acadia
Breakfast and dinner are locally sourced and thoughtfully prepared by the resort’s restaurant, and activities, naturally, lean towards the adventurous; the location places guests a half-hour’s drive from Acadia National Park. And back at camp there’s a considered emphasis on the shared social life — all are welcome around the firepits for s’mores, accompanied by live acoustic music as well as drinks for the adults. You’d be hard pressed to find a brick-and-mortar hotel that offers such immersion in your natural surroundings; conversely, you’d never be able to match the Under Canvas comforts at a do-it-yourself campsite.
Please note: Under Canvas Acadia is a seasonal hotel, and is open annually from mid-May through late September.

I liked that it was all of the fun things about camping - the tent, the cool outside and cozy (inside) evenings, the wood fires (outside near the lodge and in the wood burning stove inside the tent) - but without the less pleasant aspects of sleeping on the ground or having either an outhouse or just the woods for a bathroom. The bed was really comfortable and loaded with blankets, and I can't remember the last time I slept so well. The cabin was clean and cozy, and the shower - although simple, with on-demand water - was warm and quite nice.

Our first glamping. Was happy about tent, shower and bathroom
