This picture-perfect establishment has been in the family for seven generations. Run with great dedication, it has bags of charm and character. Near the entrance, the bar displays bottles from the wine list (ideal for an aperitif or digestif) and, just next to the bar is the open kitchen. In an attractive interior with a modernised rustic feel, an ambitious tasting menu is served both at lunchtime and in the evening – a vegetarian version is also available. The dishes are exquisite: think Frutigen perch ceviche with creamed sweet potato, coriander mayonnaise, pickled celery and puffed buckwheat. There is also an à la carte selection of simpler options that are nonetheless excellent. Many of the ingredients are sourced from the region. Attentive service is provided by friendly waitstaff. The terraces are delightful in summer. The family also runs a winery.
