Contemporary Classic & Happening
There are plenty of hotels in Saint-Germain-des-Prés, but their style has always leaned towards classic rather than cool. That is, until a new wave of boutique design hotels moved in, a trend bolstered by the opening of Hôtel Dame des Arts. Designer Raphael Navot transformed the 1950s former theater with richly layered interiors, think cream-hued bedrooms warmed up with a tactile mix of wood, porcelain, and bamboo and accessorized with an eclectic mix of artworks. Select rooms come with balconies overlooking the iconic Paris rooftops; some with a glimpse of the Eiffel Tower. Downstairs, restaurant Pimpan serves a contemporary take on French cuisine and in the Saint Germain spirit, there’s live music three nights a week. Come summer head to the secret garden courtyard or rooftop bar for a hard-to-find 360-degree city view.
