Cape Lodge
The ten newly constructed “super luxury” suites are roomy, sparely furnished spaces, some featuring jacuzzi baths. Despite the finer amenities (wireless internet, high-quality linens, CD players) of the suites, some find the lodge’s original rooms are cozier and warmer. And then on the other hand there’s the ultra-plush Vineyard Residence, a three-acre property fit for a family — that is, if your family likes gazebos and marble bathrooms, high vaulted ceilings and elegant hardwood, not to mention a separate guest house and a helicopter handing pad.
It’s probably no surprise that the Cape Lodge’s wine cellar is top-notch — the culinary dimension is central to the Cape experience, centered around a lakeside restaurant, serving fresh local seafood and the finest Western Australian produce. Touring is an option, with the choice between the hotel’s Bentley and Rolls; or just hide away, and make use of that gazebo.

Sublime atmosphere - you instantly understand you have entered a cherished sanctuary. Staff are unobtrusively present and helpful, offering suggestions when requested but without pressing. Food was absolutely out of this world, overshadowing even the excellent local wines.
