In addition to the pleasingly laid-back bistro atmosphere and chic design, it is the food cooked up by this pair of restaurateurs that steals the show. Lisa Angermann and Andreas Reinke organise their modern, ingredient-led cuisine into a regularly changing set menu dubbed "Frieda En Vogue" – the vegetarian version, "Frieda Naturell", should be pre-ordered when making your booking. The quality of the ingredients, the craftsmanship and the seasoning are particularly impressive in dishes such as "cod, ox tongue vinaigrette, watercress, gherkin" and "saddle of venison, salted celeriac, artichoke cream, pistachio, lardo". The service is friendly and professional, and the manager is charming. A nice touch: At the start of your meal, alongside the cute napkin and cutlery holder on your table, you will find an envelope containing the menu and a personal welcome. There is also a lovely terrace and orangery. Allow plenty of time but rest assured: it will be time well spent!
