Standing 33 floors above the district of Namba, at the south end of Osaka’s city center, is the Centara Grand Hotel Osaka, a hotel that demonstrates the virtue of moderation. This is a luxury hotel, to be sure, but a quietly luxurious one, more confident than ostentatious. And it’s a stylish one as well, though subtly so, colorful but not garish, rich with detail but not overstuffed. The hotel’s Spa Cenvaree feels like a rural refuge in the city center, and the hotel’s long list of restaurants and bars includes the rooftop Kunsei Kitchen and the seafood sanctuary that is Embassy of Crab.
