Located deep in the Drôme countryside is a 16th-century château surrounded by woodlands and the omnipresent lavender. This is the Château les Oliviers de Salettes, a classic stone edifice converted into a 32-room luxury boutique hotel in a contemporary-classic style. The rooms range from cozy doubles in the Bastide to expansive suites in the castle; the former are a touch more modern in style, but all give more than a hint of their aristocratic origins. The estate offers everything from pétanque to cooking lessons, as well as a spa and gourmet restaurant Lavandin.
