This 300-year-old barn and stable has been completely transformed into a stylish, modern boutique hotel designed by architect Gion A. Caminada. Casa Caminada’s rooms are a minimalist-chic interpretation of the typical Alpine lodge, their heavy timbers set against modern furnishings. The setting, in Fürstenau, is picturesque, and the rooms have views of the village, the distant mountains, or both. The hotel’s own restaurant is a fine one, but the main attraction is likely the restaurant next door, within its parent hotel Schloss Schauenstein, where chef Andreas Caminada’s kitchen has earned three MICHELIN Stars.
