Instead of severe piquancy that can pack a punch, expect a more tamed heat that caters to the palate of most. Braised crucian carp with Chinese patchouli is aromatic and tasty, while Chengdu-style twice-cooked pork renders rich meaty flavours. The homely atmosphere is also a plus.
