Minutes up the Calabrian coast from the town of Tropea is Infinity Resort, a smallish and quite luxurious hotel that stands high on a headland above the rocky shore, with views of the Tyrrhenian Sea that no doubt inspired the Infinity name. There’s a touch of a nautical theme here, inspired by those views out to sea, and the resort’s infinity pool, with its own panoramic view, is a highlight.
With 52 rooms and suites it’s somewhere between a boutique hotel and a full-scale resort, and combines elements of both. The interiors are chic in an understated way, possessing a minimalism that draws the eye continually outside. It’s well worth making the winding descent to the resort’s private beach, though your sunset cocktail is best enjoyed from the elevated pool bar or the cliffside restaurant terrace.
