Given its location it’s perhaps no surprise that the Dubai Edition is among the most lavish of the hotels born from the Schrager-Marriott partnership; what’s more impressive is that it compromises nothing when it comes to taste. The triple-height lobby is theatrical, to be sure, with its arched ceiling, spiral staircase, and vast chandelier, but Schrager’s hotels have always celebrated their public spaces; the rooms and suites, for all their visual discipline, are warm and inviting above all else. The spa and fitness offerings are first-rate, and the restaurants, Duomo and Sumosan, pay loving tribute to Italian and Japanese flavors.
