H10 Cubik

If there’s one European city that’s consistently punched far above its weight when it comes to high-design boutique hotels, it’s Barcelona, and it’s a trend that shows no signs of reversing itself. H10 Cubik begins with a refurbished modernist building in the center of the city, an emblem of Barcelona’s adventurous architectural spirit, and takes it one further with colorful, vibrant contemporary interiors by designer Lázaro Rosa-Violan.

The result is a hotel that stands out, even against stiff local competition. The building’s elevation makes the most of the city’s plentiful sunshine, and the rooms are filled with light through full-length windows. They’re more than just easy on the eye: Nespresso machines, Bluetooth sound systems, and rain showers are among the up-to-date comforts.

On the lobby level there’s the Robotik Bar, for coffee, cocktails, and all-day light fare, as well as the Market restaurant, the hotel’s breakfast venue. Meanwhile, up top, there’s the Atik Tapas Bar, a self-explanatory eatery with an impressive view, and just outside is the Atik Rooftop Bar, complete with plunge pool and loungers. Affordable, central, stylish, and more than luxurious enough for all but the highest flyers among us — something tells us H10 Cubik is destined to be a hit.
