Provintia Hotel has held the same corner of old Tainan since 1985, when it opened as Tianxia Hotel and hosted two presidents. After 35 years, it reopened with dark wood, antique copper fixtures, wicker accents, and vinyl turntables in every room. South-facing rooms on upper floors look directly onto Chihkan Tower, a rare vantage point in the district. Bathrooms use terrazzo and dark green marble. It's a hotel trading on nostalgia and location, updated for travelers who want both history and a proper bed.
