Abu Dhabi in Summer: 7 Things to See and Do

The MICHELIN-recommended spots to eat, drink, explore and enjoy during the summer months.

The pace may slow a little in Abu Dhabi during the summer, as tourists thin out and residents jet off in search of cooler climes, but the luxurious city is very much still alive and bustling with things to see and do. From world-class art spaces and modern hotel stays, to sprawling malls and immersive indoor theme parks, there's no shortage of ways to stay entertained (and air-conditioned). Whether you're a local making the most of the season or a visitor soaking up the slower vibe, these spots promise a summer of fun, flavor and discovery.

  1. Discover Louvre Abu Dhabi

Escape the heat and be truly inspired at the same time by stepping into one of the city’s most iconic landmarks, Louvre Abu Dhabi. Soaring domes and calming galleries offer a cool retreat from the sun, showcasing permanent and rotating exhibitions that span civilizations and centuries. It’s a cultural highlight not to be missed. When all that stirring viewing leaves you feeling peckish, head to nearby Fouquet’s for classic French cuisine. Whether tempted by the glazed duck breast or chicken supreme, be sure to finish with crêpes Suzette for the table to set you up nicely for more gallery wandering.

    2. Check-In for a summer staycation

Swap a traditional city staycation for a unique weekend away at ERTH Abu Dhabi Hotel. Converted from a former officers’ recreation club, this waterfront hotel offers a stunning 350m private beach, two oasis-style pools, an Olympic-size indoor pool, impressive fitness and wellness facilities (including spa, sauna, hot tubs and yoga), and leisure options from bowling to tennis. A stroll through its lovely Al Fayy Gardens and the traditional Emirati features sets this hotel apart from others. And when you’re located just opposite the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, it would be rude not to visit. Summer months mean fewer crowds and there are air-conditioned areas, too.
