Ambos

Overlooking the Sénat and the Jardin du Luxembourg, this friendly contemporary bistro has an interior done out in lots of untreated materials (exposed stones, brickwork and beams), an open kitchen and small counter. Ambos ("both" in Spanish) refers to Pierre Chomet and his Venezuelan wife, Cristina. Their culinary adventures have taken them from Bangkok to London and Paris, and include competing in TV's Top Chef in Pierre's case. Together they concoct light-hearted and personal cuisine that is full of pep and draws on a variety of influences – European and Thai (pad thai-style shrimp tartar) as well as South American (farm-reared suckling lamb and iodized chimichurri; stuffed arepa cornbread).
