On the southern fringes of Puerto Escondido, along the Pacific coast of Oaxaca, Casa TO is an architectural statement: an austere beauty almost entirely composed of raw concrete, designed by architect Ludwig Godefroy with just a few economical gestures towards luxe comfort and Oaxacan tradition. Pools wind through circular archways and guests lounge on terraced blocks; meanwhile the beach at Playa Zicatela, a highly regarded surf spot, is a few short blocks away. With just nine suites, no spa, no restaurant, and a bar open only on weekends, it’s a low-key escape — and it’s as sustainable as it is visually impactful.
