Bask & Stow
The style reads as Scandinavian to some, but architect Harley Graham was inspired by Palm Springs modernism and the Bauhaus movement; the result, all clean lines, blond wood, and minimalist white, is stylish by any name. Most suites come with bathtubs, and all have kitchenettes, as well as easy access to the property’s gardens and plunge pool.
It’s possible to order breakfast in, but that’s the extent of Bask & Stow’s culinary program. This is no great hardship, of course; the very fine Top Shop Café, known for its breakfast and burgers, is right around the corner, and a few blocks away in the other direction is Jonson Street, the town center, and a wealth of excellent restaurants.

The Sustainability initiative was unexpected but very much appreciated. The space was even cuter than the pictures depicted. I loved the focus on sourcing locally and having a coffee shop/cafe within easy walk from the hotel. Additionally, walking in to town or to the beach and lighthouse were all easily done. Although I had a car, I really only used it once when it was storming - it was perfectly situated between the lighthouse and town making both easy to walk to. They were so gracious in allowing an early check-in.
Beautiful decor, high spec new rooms with comfortable bed and amazing bathroom. Great location right by the centre but tucked away and quiet. Very friendly owners who were very helpful but gave us lots of privacy. We will definitely be back.
