This historical half-timbered house is somewhat tucked away in tranquil Kiedrich. The estate's former tavern is rustic and cosy, with lots of warm wood fittings. Seated at bare old wooden tables decked with high-quality tableware, guests are looked after by friendly and attentive wait staff. Owner and head chef Dirk Schröer (previously of Caroussel in Dresden and the fine dining restaurant of Burg Schwarzenstein in Geisenheim) creates aromatic cuisine that combines classical elements with regional fare. Proprietor Amila Begic leads a front-of-house team that will be able to recommend many a fine wine from the region to accompany the delightfully balanced and well-structured dishes. The terrace commands a view of the vineyards and Scharfenstein Castle.
