Pae Araya

Where the Mekong and Mun Rivers meet, this floating restaurant, whose name means ‘noble raft,’ serves central Thai and Isan fare featuring fish from both rivers. The Tom Yum redtail catfish and local roe served with herbs are both flavourful and recommended. They and everything else on the menu come with cooling river breezes and gentle undulations from passing boats. Arrive early for dinner to catch sunset views over the river and the Laotian landscape beyond.
