Run by a keen husband and wife team, Jöro is named after the Old Norse word for 'Earth', reflecting its commitment to quality British ingredients – which are the bedrock of the ambitious cooking. While the produce may be local, the tasting menus have a strong East Asian base, integrating plenty of Japanese flavours like wasabi and ponzu in particular. The restaurant recently relocated outside the city to Oughtibridge Mill, but if you want your fix within the centre, head to House of Jöro where they have bedrooms and a chef's table.
