On the edge of the city’s Chinatown, one of the most popular tourist districts of Buenos Aires, chef Maximiliano Rossi invites guests on a gastronomic journey that follows a somewhat similar theme to his Picarón restaurant (in Chacarita), which is also recommended by the MICHELIN guide, although here the cuisine is based almost entirely around fish and seafood. Once through the large doorway, you’ll find a high-ceilinged, contemporary dining room with a bar where you can choose between a wide array of cocktails. The restaurant name, which translates as “overseas”, would give an indication of dishes and ingredients from around the world, whereas, in fact, there is a clear focus on fish and seafood from Argentina’s coastline including a choice of snack-style dishes, with raw (krill “chicharones”, prawn “chupe”) and cured (pickled mussels) options, vegetables, and grilled dishes (we particularly enjoyed the fish “cachete” with pil pil). The restaurant also offers an interesting set menu entitled Paseo Marino.
