Everyone wants a piece of this Middle Eastern spot, exuding all the downtown feels thanks to an open-air setting. It's definitely a place to see and be seen and getting a table here isn't easy, but the kitchen continues to push Levantine cuisine to ever-higher levels. Bread, in all its wonderful variations, gets a starring role here—from fresh pita to savory black sesame and buckwheat loaves. Dinner standouts include the slow-roasted lamb neck shawarma, smothered in earthy spices and roasted over wood-fired flames. You'll be soaking up every last bit of its fantastic juices with laffa, served on the side. If you can exercise some restraint at dinner—and it certainly won’t be easy—save room for the rose clove chocolate donuts or Persian mulberry ice cream.
